Crystalized
26 year old Chicago native Crystal Stanfield has waited all her life to tell you what’s in her
world. Her sound can often reach a soft high and a deep low always in an electronic sound field. She has a way with words,
painting pictures that only movies can paint in your head while lulling you with her highs when you least expect it.
“I always have had the biggest passion for music, poetry and dance”. Starting at the wee
age of 5 she was strutting her stuff to family. Idolizing artists like the Madonna, Prince and Blondie.
Once in high school Crystal was exposed to more opportunities with music. She was a staple in her
high school Acapella Choir and Secretary of her high school’s Thespian Society. Crystal was influenced by Industrial
and Trip Hop Music and followed bands like NIN, The Cranberries, Garbage and Portishead. With these influences she longed
for more of her own personal touch.
Once out of high school Crystal teamed up with a classical guitarist Glenn Major and realized her
writing talent was more than poetry but that she could use her words and stories with her vocal ability and be able to create
her own sound. She mixed one demo with him before they split there separate ways in 1999.
In 2001 she was approached by Tim Vitek a producer that was putting out a progressive techno album
and needed help on a track. Crystal then wrote the lyrics and recorded “Survive” which went on to be a club hit
in several Chicago clubs.
High from her first successful recorded track “Survive”, she partnered up with Eric Meers-berg
a Producer/Keyboardist. Together they brought “Crystalized”, Crystal Stanfield’s solo project. With
much attention to her range and style her hit’s “4 O’Clock” and “Origional Sin” have shown
us that “Crystalized” is the up and coming electronic – soothing voice you want as a staple in your collection!
Check her out as she partner’s next with “Tha Raven” from Eye of the Storm Records!
